2nd Shift Brewer
El Segundo Brewing

DEPARTMENT:
Brewery Production
REPORTS TO:
Head Brewer (Shawn Manriquez) and Logan Smith (Director of Brewing Ops)
SUMMARY:
The brew team works closely to produce a variety of different styles while emphasizing a safe and clean work environment. Generally, the closing shift brewer will be responsible for taking over brewing operations from the morning brewer, completing cellar tasks, and preparing the facility for the next day. This is a full-time, 40hr/week position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Wort production from milling to knock out
- Tank CIPs and SIPs
- Dry Hopping
- Centrifuge operation
- Beer fining and carbonation
- Maintain batch documentation and record keeping
- Raw material receiving and inventory management
- QA and QC, sensory assessment
- Maintain a safe and sanitary workspace
- All tasks to be completed with a relentless attention to detail and focus on Beer Quality
- Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate mechanical issues to supervisor and maintenance team
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years of production brewing experience required
- The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies
- Must be a strong team player and have experience with working in a team to achieve a common goal
- Excellent communication skills with peers and managers
- Effective independent time management
- Strong organizational skills for parts and equipment management
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions; humility to ask for help when

- Brewing science or applicable math or science degree or certification preferred

- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Must be 21 years old
- Night and weekend availability is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Employee must frequently move over 175 lbs with a dolly, and use a floor jack to move pallets weighing up to 2,000 lbs
- Able to physically drive a forklift, training available
- Must be able to work nights and weekends

COMPENSATION:
- $23-26/hr doe
- Up to 10 days pto per year, accrued from hours worked
