Hope you all had a fun and safe Labor Day weekend! It was very difficult for us to know we couldn't serve you all on person during this last 3-day weekend. As we enter the 3rd week since we started #SaveLABrewers, it's important to keep up the support! We still have not gotten any collaboration or consideration from the county on how to keep our businesses afloat! We hear whispers of support from some but not from the majority of supervisors. We hear random dates from random county staffers on a hypothetical time when this can be discussed. We need help! @hildasolis @mridleythomas @sheilakuehl @supjanicehahn @supervisorkathrynbarger...will you come to bay for our small businesses? Will you allow us to use food vendors so we can safely operate outside? A growing number of our businesses are thinking they will NOT make it through the end of the year of there is no relief!

It's been a week since we started our #SaveLABrewers campaign and while we are still hoping that the LA County Board of Supervisors will hear our pleas for them to allow us food vendors, we need to keep on keeping on. That said, help us continue to being a safe shopping experience to our communities. If you're stopping by to grab some To-Go brews, please remember to WEAR a mask, WAIT 6ft away from others, and for your sake and for the safety of others, WASH or sanitize those hands often! All of our staff are committed to doing the same for you safety as well. Hoping our industry can see some relief at the County level soon, but we can't drop this diligence if we are to convince them to let us reopen tasting rooms for outdoor dining. Take care, everyone! From @alostabrewingco: Hi! @hildasolis @mridleythomas @sheilakuehl @supjanicehahn @supervisorkathrynbarger My name is Chewie and I am a (almost) 2 year old golden retriever. Alosta Brewery has been my second home ever since I was a pup. In fact, it was the first place my mom took me to after I had all my vaccines and the vet said I was safe to go out and about. Everyone at Alosta has become my family through my weekly Thursday night visits :)
. They have watched me grow up from a hyper young puppy to a slightly less hyper dog! Mom says that coming to Alosta on a weekly basis really helped me learn to settle down, especially in busy places. She just doesn’t understand i want to be friends with everyone! Since my parents have been home more often I’ve enjoyed seeing them, but I really miss seeing my Alosta family members!
. Plus Mom keeps taking about how much she appreciates having a safe, dog friendly place to work on my socialization. Right now, some doggies don’t have that! How will they become good boys and girls? I promise that I will be a good boy and keep practicing my social distancing skills to do my part, I’ve gotten better at that pesky “stay” command! Both my mom and I beg and hope the LA BOS reconsiders their position. #SaveLABrewers ❤️All the doggie kisses, Chewie❤️
. PS: I know how much everyone at Alosta cares about making a safe environment for people to come enjoy some food and a beer so they can continue to keep their doors open! They’ve been training staff, re-did their outdoor patio space, and working with their regular food vendors so they can maintain a safe environment and follow all the necessary guidelines.

Still crossing our 🤞 that our Board of Supervisors see us. @supervisorkathrynbarger, we know that LA County is in the Governor's purple tier, but all we need is for you and your colleagues at county Health to allow us to use food vendors. That's it! Allowing food vendors as outlined in the new state tier system would allow us to abide by restaurant guidelines of outdoor service! As we see our neighbors in other counties move into the red tier with limited indoor service...we're still hear begging to be able to serve meals OUTSIDE. Please reconsider. Woof 🐶 I'm one of the dogs that guard the hop bines over at @sowaheart farm. We grow a bunch of neat things and this season is wet hop season! We love supplying @thekindsage with hops to make delicious vegan beers. We also love sharing our harvest with our @labrewers friends! We've been hearing that many of them may not be able to survive for much longer if L.A. County doesn't help them operate safely outside with food vendors. Sage is fortunate to have a restaurant, but so many of our small business friends do not. My name is Gracie (or Grayson depending on how I am feeling that day) and I live at Smog City Brewing Co. Hopefully you’ve seen #SaveLABrewers posts this week the decent humans that work at our 93 breweries in the county asking for your help. If not, check ‘em out. They explain pretty puuuurfectly the predicament we’re in right now.

You see, all the really cool cats that used to come enjoy beers at Smog City Brewing Co. are no longer allowed to do that. My life has turned into a hollow shell of what it once was because my humans, who work super hard by the way (too hard if you ask me!), aren’t allowed to let their catstomers (see what I did there!) drink their delicious brews here anymore alongside a meal. Our big, purrrfect outdoor patio and parking lot space are sitting empty. There are no litters of lovely people to fawn over me and tell me how great I am. Where did they all go?!?!?! Also, as much as I hate to admit it, I also miss the canines that used to come hang out too. Rolly and Rosebud used to be regulars here and have vanished. It’s purrty sad.

But, apparently there is a purrty simple solution to the sadness! I was rudely woken from a nap the other day by my humans talking about how every other county in the great state of CA is allowing craft breweries just like ours to be open and use 3rd party food vendors to meet meal requirements. So, if every other county can do it, why can’t we? I may be super lazy, but the rest of the crew at Smog City is totally ready to meet any and all requirements needed to open the doors safely again. Please help us out! I need praise from more people than just my staff! HELP!

From @brouwerijwest: Howdy, fam. We hope y’all are hanging in there and staying safe and healthy, physically and mentally. For those with kids going back to school and trying to make it work, we feel you and send you positive vibes. And for our neighbors up north dealing with wildfires, those in the Gulf Coast facing hurricanes, and all of us fighting for racial and social justice throughout the world, we stand with you.

We know there is a lot going on in the world right now, but we are asking for a few minutes of your help today.

This week is the @labrewers Action Week, where we are collectively mobilizing to ask the County to modify the County Department of Health's Order to allow breweries to partner with food trucks to open for on-site service. While we are thankful we’ve been able to offer pickup, delivery, and shipping options (and are thankful to all of you who have continued to support us in that way), it is not close to the same. The whole LA craft brewing industry’s survival is in jeopardy if something doesn’t change soon.

Our ask is for you to reach out to our County Supervisor, Janice Hahn, to advocate on our behalf. First, let us make clear that we take COVID very seriously and fully understand the difficult decisions that must be made in deciding what to open. We are not asking for any "special" treatment, simply for fair and equitable treatment. LA is the only county in California not allowing breweries without kitchens to partner with food trucks to open. We are confident that anyone who visited us during the three weekends we were open in June would agree that we took this seriously – we created a whole new service model and proved we can operate just as safely as restaurants, if not more so given our large 10k+ sq. ft. outdoor courtyard..

From @tenmilebrewing: Hey Everyone - It’s your Ten Mile family here… As you may have seen from other local LA breweries, LA County is the ONLY county in California that is not allowing breweries, without a built-in kitchen, to be open. We opened briefly in June and operated under the same guidelines and restrictions that every other business is required to adhere to, but that was short-lived. Soon LA County decided they would not allow our customers to dine outside in our own private parking lot, or enjoy food from our awesome food truck partners. We are not asking for special treatment, and we never have. We are asking to be treated fairly and given a chance to see our business through these devastating times. Please join us in asking our LA county supervisor, @supjanicehahn to give our business and countless other’s a chance. So tell us @countyofla , why can we enjoy a beer on the streets of LA if it’s from a big chain restaurant, but not in our parking lot? We empathize with how difficult the Covid situation must be on our Government Officials and we could not imagine creating policies during this pandemic. We appreciate the amount of pressure you are under with so much at stake. Recently, Common Space Brewery has joined our fellow LA County Breweries in asking your Commision to follow the California State Guidelines allowing Brewery Taprooms to operate under the same guidelines as restaurants. Without the revenue from our taprooms, LA Breweries simply cannot survive. Further, our independently owned, Family operated Food Vendors have $0 income with our taprooms shuttered. We are not asking for any special treatment and we certainly understand that we are not the only industry affected by Covid. But the State was clear on what is safe and sustainable and we ask that this hold true in Los Angeles County as well.
